Home cupping: taste like a roaster
All you need is cups, a spoon and scales: compare several coffees side by side to find your taste.

Cupping is how roasters evaluate coffee: same ratio, same water, tasted side by side to see the differences.
The steps
Put 8.25g of medium-ground coffee in a cup and pour 150ml of 93°C water. After 4 minutes, break the crust, skim it off and taste with a spoon as it cools.
Note body, sweetness, acidity and finish — your own preferences will become much clearer.
