Robusta espresso: a 1:2 ratio for thick crema
12g in, 24g out — or 18g for 36g: dialling in a medium-dark Robusta for a bold shot with thick crema and no burnt edge.

Robusta carries more oils and caffeine than Arabica, which is why its crema is so thick. Start at a 1:2 ratio and 25–30 seconds, then adjust the grind.
| Single | 12g → 24g |
|---|---|
| Double | 18g → 36g |
| Time | 25–30 seconds |
| Temperature | 92–93°C |
Shot too harsh?
Drop the brew temperature by 1°C or grind one step coarser. Dark-roasted Robusta tolerates heat less than light roasts.
